Fire Safety and Fire Marshall Training

Fires safety is fundamental for any building which is open to the public. Healthcare providers have a particular responsibility to ensure the safety of everyone – including vulnerable or impaired patients - on their premises.
Fire safety is reviewed in a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections, and two regulations (fundamental standards) cover fire safety.
Dental practices and healthcare premises must also obey various health and safety laws and regulations, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which requires any person who has some level of control in non-domestic premises, to take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fire and make sure people can safely escape if there is a fire.
Rosette CPD’s Fire Safety and Fire Marshal training are comprehensive, fully researched, professional training delivered by Maggie Heath, an experienced health and safety trainer with more than a decade’s experience in the healthcare sector.

Fire Safety Your Responsibilities

Fire safety failures can have tragic consequences.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 also is the main act which sets fire safety duties for all non-domestic premises.
A number of regulations apply to fire safety in business premises, and specifically to healthcare settings.
CQC regulation 15 (Premises and equipment regulation), and 12 (safe care and treatment) cover fire safety, and will be reviewed in an inspection. (The Welsh equivalent is a Healthcare Inspectorate Wales Inspection).
You must be able to show inspectors that you can anticipate and plan for risks; that you have identified processes and personal responsibilities that keep people safe. A risk assessment, evacuation plan, building control certificate, and utilities safety inspection details are among the documents you must have. You must demonstrate that your staff are trained for fire safety. Your firefighting equipment and systems must be up to date with testing and certification to show that.
